Buy 2008 Jeep Patriot
Features and Specifications:
- Looks like a Jeep, low price, comfortable seating position, okay fuel economy
- Steps lightly and steers lively like a car, but road noise is a killjoy, and the Patriot, despite its name, isn't very quick to the hunt
- Introduced for 2007; 2008 models get standard A/C, new colors, some trim changes
- Budget interior trim, smaller inside than competitors, not much rock-crawling ability
- That means a macho look and at least some off-road ability
- Like the Compass, the Patriot uses the same platform as the Dodge Caliber, but the boxier Patriot is more Jeep-like
- At heart, though, the Patriot is little more than an inexpensive way to park the Jeep image in your driveway
